If your hotel is offering free WiFi with no password, stay off it.
Hotels cop cyber-attacks frequently, especially the ones advertising free WiFi. You run the risk of having your credit card details lifted or your bank account cleaned out. And the numbers are rising.
The solution is simple. Use your own mobile data, or get an eSIM before you travel. You get a generous data allocation for only a few dollars, and you remove the risk entirely.
The same applies at airports. If you see "Free Airport WiFi" pop up on your phone, don't connect to it. It takes about thirty seconds for someone on the same network to start poking around your device.
eSIMs are particularly good value now. You can buy one online before you leave, it loads straight onto your phone, and you're connected the moment you land without hunting for a SIM card at the airport.
Ask us if you'd like advice about eSIMs for your next destination. It's one of those small things that makes a real difference.
