What do you think of airlines?

Do you love what they do? Slag them off most of the time? Perhaps you're indifferent?

I'm critical, but fair. They cop it when it's due, and get praised when they go above and beyond.

This month I'm giving a big wrap to Air New Zealand for their Synthony in the Sky experience.

A couple of weeks ago, an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Sydney was transformed into a live music gig. Synthony, a collective blend of electronic music and classical orchestra, delivered a full visual and audio experience for everyone on board.

I love this idea. It's unique, innovative, high-energy, and above all, an experience you will always remember.

Can you remember your last flight to Australia? I highly doubt it. Some flights you'd rather forget entirely. At $549, this seems well worth the price tag.

Experiences like this should be applauded. Well done, Air New Zealand. More of this, please.
